Mr. G is an amazing band director. My nephew and nieces have both been under his direction. One of my nieces is in the band at Anderson and has much respect for this man. To lose Mr. G. would be an awful loss to the Anderson Community Schools. He is devoted to his teaching and directing and gives more than 100%. How many teachers would have this kind of support not only from the students but from parents as well? Save Mr. Giesler's job!

As a graduate of Highland High School, a tax payer, and parent of ACSC students, I do not support any changes that affect the current music programs at any of the ACSC schools. This school system has always prided itself on the accomplishments of the band and music programs. The resurgence of the show choirs is an excelent example.

Studies have shown to increase ones intelligence as is sharpens listening skills. This is very important in other aspects of ones life even in the classroom. Please keep all music programs because music is also a tool for the souls healing.

Mr. Geisler does so much in the school, with choirs, in piano lab, with the band, even directing at games for pep band! I hope he gets to stay!

FYI, the next board meeting is April 8th at 6pm!! Come and RESPECTFULLY! make your voice heard. They won't listen to us unless we act like adults and leave our emotions behind us. Be there! Save Geisler!

Geisler not only helps with the band and the choir, but he also is part of running piano lab and is the assistant swim coach. We have a 'quadruple-threat' on our hands and he's not someone we can afford let slip through our fingers. Thanks to all who have signed this petition and supported our favorite teacher!

I think we need to remember that ACS is not cutting band and choir and such, they are just talking about Geisler. While this may harm the band and choir, the classes themselves are still up and running as of next year. The only thing in jeopardy right now is Geisler's job. If we can help him, we can improve the quality and structure of ACS's fine arts program. Save Geisler!!

The last thing school systems need is cutting the Fine Arts (Foreign Language included), especially at the high school and middle school levels when students are exploring their core identities and figuring out their passions and future career paths! This district has gone through so much, why must this be happening?

More adults giving time and talent to kids creates a better experience for all. It doesn't always need to be about money. How about putting arts and talent first for a change??

You are childish and short sided if you are too STUPID to realize what firing this man would result in. If you have any common sense to see past your own dumbassery then maybe you will understand just what a ridiculous decision firing Geisler would be.

I had Richard Geisler as a student teacher when I was in 8th grade and he was great! My brother also talks about how great of a teacher he is to the students. Let's keep him apart of the Anderson Community School family!
