Please keep Bruin Block as is. I dont believe that any behavior issues will help by breaking up the current 1hr block. The only thing that will help the behavior issues is their parents showing up and personally escorting these kids through life. Perhaps if some kids cant behave during that time they need to have their right to participate in Bruin Block revoked. Also a main goal as a parent is to make kids more independent. The current set up allows kids to choose who they eat with and where they eat. Also doesn't it increase the risk of academic dishonesty if these kids are going to 3rd period where they may have been taking a test, then going into a very loud cafeteria where perhaps tons of kids could be talking about that test, then send them back to take the same test?? The cafeteria is extremely loud and will cut short the ability of the kids who want to continue to study or utilize the other current benefits of Bruin Block while they eat.

Please keep Bruin block. It has been hugely helpful for my student athletes to keep up with their work. It is also helpful to my child with an IEP. I appreciate the logistical difficulties for administration and hope a solution can be found.

I have two upcoming freshman for the 2019-2020 school year. Based off their athletic events and volunteer schedules we are relying heavily on Bruin Block to help them accomplish their academic goals.

Bruin block has been nothing but helpful during the last 3 years of my high school experience it made it easier to come to school because I knew I wouldn’t have to be stuck in the cafeteria anxious that everyone was looking at me as I walk in the cafe. Because I’m over weight and they bullied me.

This is a crucial tool for both of our children. Please do not take away there time to work on school within the school hours. This allows them time to get extra help or work on group projects. Try to fix the problem of noncompliance by some not take it away from all!
