Next year I will not be a student at Broadneck high school because I’m graduated this year. However, if it were not for bruin block I would not of graduated because I spent my lunch hour finishing work that I needed. I believe that all students whether they’re graduating in the 2020 school year or if their underclassmen of the classes 2021 2022 or 2023 should have the same opportunities the classes of 2019 2018 and 2017 had.

Please keep Bruin Block! It is so needed for students making up work after being absent, to get extra help when needed, and also to use for homework when extracurricular activities don’t allow for homework to get completed in the evenings.

Bruin block is an important “break” in the day and has proven invaluable to my children as an opportunity to work with teachers, meet with organizations, etc.

I can’t imagine not having this for students. When I went to school we called it “study hall” and it was invaluable. Allowing students that time to catch up, do homework, or get the help they needed to succeed. Don’t take this away. There just isn’t enough time in the day and we are killing our children with the stress that is overwhelming.

From a mom who has a child that suffers greatly from asthma exacerbation and faces either hospital admissions or lots of missed time from school Bruin block has been extremely beneficial to her. This year she had surgery causing her to miss 2 full weeks of school. The teachers had her use mainly Bruin block to make up all her work with the exception of ONE teacher that sent work home for her to complete(even with letting them
Know a month in advance) she is also an athlete who works part time after school. I think it would be crazy to remove this from the school day!

My daughter really likes Bruin Block and says that it has helped her to study. She likes seeing friends in between classes that she usually can’t see, and it and keeps her more interested in going to school.
