The one week core rotation at the University of Bristol abattoir is no longer available to next years students, nor are the lectures given by Andy Grist which are probably the most useful and entertaining PMVPH lectures given at RVC.

This is bad for the following reasons:

- Abattoir rotation consistently gets some of the best feedback of all rotations
- It is a useful rotation, run by great staff and is unlike any 'normal' abattoir experience
- It is especially useful for those with an interest in farm animal medicine or pathology
- It's a chance to work with students from other universities and get out of PB
- Andy gives the best/funniest lectures and practicals
- You get to hear Cambridge students get shot down repeatedly
- Abattoir is a nice, friendly, laid back rotation...
- It's near the beach, you finish early and fun.... So why get rid of it?

And remember... If meat inspectors go on strike, private vets are required by law to go in to abattoirs and cover them.
