Keep BOY in BOY Scouts!

That comment made me lose brain cells. Why do you think guys should be sissified?

It's called boy scouts

Why, so teen pregnancy can skyrocket? Why should guys be forced to be around girls all the time. It's called the freaking Boy Scouts. B-O-Y. Why can't guys act like guys.

So you're basically saying boys should have no time at all to themselves and should have to impress girls constantly. Girls and guys are equal but different. This apauls me as you aren't in the US regardless and you insult us for defending our organization.

As. scouter, I cannot condone petitions such as this. As part of the worldwide scouting family, I welcome the decision by BSA, to permit females to join all sections of Scouting in the USA. This brings them into line with the World organisation of the Scout Movement. I remember in the UK some years ago we had similar expressions of shock and revulsion, when we went co-Ed. However, following the move to a joint venture scout unit and later to other sections of the movement, I can only express positive view on permitting Scouts to be Scouts regardless of race, creed or gender. I feel to express any other view is wholly un-Scouting and the views being expressed by some people who are leaders and wear the Neckercheif and uniform to represent Scouting and the Scout laws should be ashamed of themselves. Scouts and Scouting should be Scout Shaped, not taken back to a very outdated and draconian view that Scouting is just for Boys. Well done BSA and, welcome to the 21st Century. I am sure when the WSJ come to West Virginia in 2019, we will see our first US mixed Scout troops there.

I live in England, where females are already in scouting but my view is slightly different. I think women should be accepted in the male version of scouting but why change BSA? I have first hand experienced a BSA camp and it was great! Its a time where boys can be boys and men can be men and not be trying to impress or show off because there is no reason to. Instead of adding girls to BSA, if they are so unhappy with girl scouting then change that or make a unisex scout group. Let there be a place where boys can be themselfs without worrying what certain people think of them. Its just so sudden and out of the blue.

You boys need to grow up..... It is really your intention to step back in 1933, in which women were disrespected, only because man are bigger or better. At least they think so. With this petion you will go back in time. I dont think that our beloved Lord Baden Powell would refuse to join in girls in a boy group. As a scout you learn to respect and to live with people that maybe will be your friend someday. You don´t know which future you have. Who you will be meet and maybe find a person, who is then the most important person, you´ve ever met! So, to conclude i hope you will be wiser next time, and think about the affect of your action. Scouts should be there for each other and not discriminate each other, only because it´s a boy or a girl. Hope you understand what you teach the boys. In fact, you teach them to be offensive and violent in front of girls. Is this your aspect how to make real and nice guys? Think about it please.

Let the girls use the energy it took to do all of this mess and use it to fix the Girl Scout program instead

Seriously? Did you know the Scout Law? Why you think than the US (and BSA) are in some kind of "protecting bubble" and ignores the rest of the world? In almost all the countries where Scouts exists they don't call themselves "Boy" Scouts since decades ago. How can you teach your boys to became men (which by the way is a very narrow way to see Scouting), if you don't give them the opportunity to learn from girls too?

Seriously grow up...women have been turning your men into boys as mothers, leaders etc. All you are teaching your boys is to hate and that is very sad. If you don't like the new program...leave. There will be others who are supportive that will take your place.

If girls can join the BOY scouts, then boys they should allow to join the girl scouts. This is new law is one of the worst decision the leader's ever introduced.

They can't find leadership for girl scouts now we are adding this program.

It's BOY SCOUTS let's keep it that way

Scouting is for all young persons, whatever race, religion, ability, gender and sexuality, We aim at creating a better world, through helping the members develop holistically and become responsible citizens.

Those who support this mysigonistic petition need to have their head removed from their rectum including females into scouts teachers social interaction tolerance and respect those who don't want it ate not a good fit for scouting

Sad petition. The aim of Scouting is to encourage good citizenship. To say there are "risks" is misleading. Most other countries countries have co-ed Scouts and manage just set fine. Maybe there will be a little bit more for leaders to consider, but again, everyone else manages. In my experience there are just as many benefits for boys as there are for girls when they get to experience Scouting together.

This is the most appalling thing I have seen come out of America. Every other country that has scouts allows girls in it. Maybe you should stop your whining and let it happen, I’m actually sad that I share the same organisation as you and if you truly think this you don’t deserve to wear a neckerchief. In the UK we have girlguiding but that doesn’t stop us from allowing girls in scouts. It stupid that this was not done sooner.
