Venture scouts exist for a reason. I’d be all for merging into just scouts, however as long as it’s Boy Scouts, it should just be boys. It’s in the name.

Boys Scouts put simply is for Boys. As we look at a lot of troops SPL’s and adult leaders have a hard enough time making sure that the boys are learning something and being attentive. Add girls and hormones into the mix and it gets harder. The Girl Scouts is a program for Girls and frankly if it needs help then ask the BSA to help your program. We shouldn’t be taking in girls. The federal charter for the BSA only mentions the BSA helping boys. Did the BSA seek congressional approval to move forward I think not.

I’m a senior patrol leader and it is already hard enough for guys but girls would be bad we would need to separate tents girls would be harassed by leaders so more about “protecting scouts” bs would come into play and make everything harder

This is a tradition that is being ruined, just keep the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts they are both equal.
