It is time some people realised this is a name derived from the colour of the product. Equally there is white pudding. Towns with black in the name derive from pools and brackish dark coloured water and have been in existence since 7th century. Do not tamper with our heritage.

I have never heard any thing more stupid than a statement saying black pudding ( or at least the name ) is offensive to black people,I find the thought of animals being hung up and having their throats cut for halal and Kosha religious purposes barbaric but still it goes on in a Christian country but still it goes on daily so get over your selves all you do gooders and get a life and leave BLACK PUDDING alone.

there's nothing racist about black pudding its an English institution if we banned everything we would no longer be England we would no longer have traditions this is getting stupid us English people don't complain about their traditions and what they call food or what they believe in yet we get called racist political correctness has gone mad whats next the union jack gets removed cos it offends foreigners called jack in our country it would seem to me political correctness is intent on taking everything away that makes England English. what makes me laugh is if they don't like our traditions customs or the way we call things the way we do why stay in or come to England and ask us English to respect there traditions and customs when they clearly don't respect ours... rant over lol ..

Does this mean i should get white pudding renamed as its racist to me? What about blackbirds, blackburn, etc shall we rename those in case people think only black people can live in blackburn?
