The administration has decided to keep the soccer field accessible to dog owners during the off-hours. It is heartening to see how our collective request prompted a thoughtful review of the park policy. Please remain mindful of the space and respectful of the athletic programs so we can continue to …
The goal of this petition is to request that the above reconsider your decision to close the Big Canoe Soccer Field to dogs and their dog owners. We request that the soccer field stay open to use as an off-leash dog park for all Big Canoe Lot Owners during those times that BCAR is not occupying the field.
Seeing the community rally behind the shared use of the Big Canoe soccer field reminds me how much we value our local open spaces. This momentum proves that our neighbors want to find ways to balance recreation with the needs of pet owners.

The Meadows dog park has become dangerously overcrowded in the mornings now that the soccer field is closed and everyone is trying to avoid the heat of the day. Someone or someone’s pet will be injured as a result. Please reopen the soccer field in the interest of safety.

If the true dog parks were easily accessible, had restrooms, and not mud/dirt, not just weeds , didn’t have so many bugs and if they had cell service , we would not have felt the need to use the soccer field. Truly deplorable conditions.

I consider making the soccer field accessible to dog owners a reasonable and necessary request. It is the only space that is large, dry, fenced, and easily accessed by residents with mobility problems.

Until a location that is accessible to people with mobility issues is created or repurposed, the soccer field is necessary for many dog owners. Can a schedule of soccer games for the VERY small number of children living in Big Canoe be provided to show that the field is being used on a regular basis that would explain the abrupt locking of the gates?

Please open our soccer fields back up for the residents of Big Canoe to use with their dogs! It is the only field that is flat, safe, drains, has lights and restrooms and easily accessible parking. The baseball field and the play field by the dam are available for the few children who live here.

The soccer field should be designated an ALL-purpose field open to ALL residents of Big Canoe. Designating it as only a soccer field will leave it empty the majority of the year. What a shame and a waste. Perhaps those wanting to play soccer should reserve the space just like we would for the swim club, Lodge, etc. And if it's not reserved, the dog lovers of BC should be able to enjoy it.

I see no reason why the soccer field area could not be used as a dog park in the soccer off season.
