I don't think this is a good use of taxpayer resources and will harm the aesthetics of the town.

As a resident of Leonia for more than forty-eight years I like the open spaces and trees that still remain in this lovely town. Please do not make any changes to the beautiful sculpture garden and the existing courthouse annex. It is a stopping place for me when I take my walks along Broad Ave. Do not change the character of our town.

There are better alternatives to the park land site now being considered. Build out the space in front of the existing fire truck garage. A second level(s), to the maximum height allowed, could be office space and/or recreational space for the volunteers. Space in the existing garage could be incorporated into the police station to provide for their needs and for code compliance as well as ambulance staff needs. Purchase the two residential structures on Fort Lee road to provide for a fire lane for police and ambulance as well as parking for volunteers, police, ambulance, visitors and residents.

I hope other options for new muni complex can be found. It would be sad to lose our lovely little park and sculpture garden

I appreciate the hard work of the M&C in researching this and also your drive to improve our facilities. I am in 100% agreement that we need upgraded facilities. I do not agree with the location. Sculpture Garden is the center of our community. It shows outsiders that Leonia is a community that celebrates arts and nature. Moving the sculptures is not sufficient to me, because we lose our green space and that gorgeous sugar maple that is famous on social media for its beauty. Please take time and consider another location. I appreciate your diligence in keeping the cost of this project down. I’m stating here that I personally choose the character of our community over the cost.

Present plans would ruin the town of Leonia.

LPD definitely needs better and more comfortable facilities. However, I firmly believe we can find a better location in order to preserve green space and the charm/character of Leonia.

Perhaps one of the architects in our town could draw up a preliminary plan and rendering of what a new building in the Police-Ambulane Corps lot would like.

There must be a better solution then the current thought of destroying the sculpturegarden. I have thought all along expand the current police quarters intothat small section of wood park that has some picnic benches.

The police/ambulance corps area is the proper place for this facility, even if the scale of the project (footprint) has to be reduced slightly.

I agree I don’t believe a monstrous building complex as the one proposed for the center of our Town would be a desirable addition.

We need to preserve the open space we have & not reduce it. It is unique to have a park in the middle of town & we should protect it - not eliminate it.

To build a large new building on the site of the sculpture garden would ruin the character of Leonia for ever. It seems that maybe all possibilities of using the Wood Park area have not been thoroughly explored. Just because it is easier to use Beechwood Place does not make it right.

I implore the council to find an alternative site - the present area of former ambulance corps plus car park area of present police station would be ideal.

We have so little open space we need to keep what we have.

I wanted to send a brief note about the new borough hall/police complex. I'm in complete agreement that the Borough needs a new facility (and I applaud you all for going through the process and making it happen). However, I disagree on the location and specifically using what seemingly is green / open space (the fact that there is already an established use of the space is also disheartening; viz., the sculpture garden/park). I encourage the members of planning team responsible for choosing a site to look at other options. Leonia is loosing many of it's "small town" attributes and if we can try and preserve the few remaining spots that make our town special we should aim to do so. I get the location has some merit, but I don't see how or why you would destroy an established garden, park and green space (regardless of relocation).
