Dear faculty members and fellow students,

As many of you know, Bastien Oriot, our TD instructor for both Basic Quantum Physics (BQPH) and Quantum Physics for Computer Scientists (QP4CS), recently mentioned that he may not continue teaching the QP4CS tutorials after the holidays, with Massimo expected to take over.

After discussing with a significant number of classmates from the M1 Quantum Information program, we realized that there is a strong consensus among us:

Bastien’s teaching has been exceptionally valuable. Moreover, since Bastien teaches both BQPH and QP4CS tutorials, he plays an essential role in ensuring continuity and coherence between the two courses , something that is crucial for our progression in this demanding program.

We have also discussed this matter with professor Marco, who encouraged us to express our feedback constructively and proactively.

Through this petition, we wish to respectfully request that Bastien be allowed to continue teaching the QP4CS tutorials after the holidays, in recognition of his pedagogical contribution and the positive impact he has had on our learning experience.

We, the undersigned students, express our sincere appreciation for his teaching and kindly ask the department to consider our collective request.

With gratitude,
The students of M1 Quantum Information
