Apu is being removed by 1 guy looking to have his 5 minutes of fame with a very poorly made documentary. Lets not get this to happen.
If you would cut out all stereotypes from The Simpsons, you would only have Maggie remaining. And she shot Mr. Burns!
Whoever claiming that Apu should go does not speak for all Indian Americans. Apu represents a slice of America showing immigrants contributing to America economically and culturally. Comedy is generated through generalizing. So Leave Apu alone and go do something productive and stop speaking for everyone.
Apu is a 3 dimensional, lovingly crafted, carefully acted, beautifully constructed celebration of cultural difference AND integration. Cutting him from the show is an offense to sensible minds and celebrations of diversity (which make no mistake, his character absolutely is). What a shameful display which led to this place. Save Apu, and defend Hank Azaria & Matt Groening for their work.
I can't believe people want to band a sterotypical character on a show about sterotypes. Especially a character that does massive justice for indians, i mean geez he litterally is so sucessful he has most of springfield's woman after him, the respect of every resident, and a booming small buisness.
This pc bs is getting ridiculous and the same argument could made with fat Tony but no one complains

There is a British article which if you google explains it well. It is also written by an Indian. The problem isn't Apu. The problem is Indian born in America who only want to be portrayed as cool and hipster while ignoring all the jobs that got them to that position. Dairy owner, Taxi driver. I as an Indian am proud of my Dad who drove Taxis and my uncle who ran a dairy. And we all love Apu. He has done more for Indians getting respect than anyone complaining about Apu has ever done. Indian's just cause everyone is jumping on the outrage bandwagon doesn't mean we have to too.
