Apollo is not only the Greek God of music and poetry, it Is a neglected building that sits on a hilltop looking over downtown Burlington, Iowa. It has always been a place for the youth to go, to learn, to achieve. But now the history of the Apollo School, Burlington's historic high school, is being threatened by low - income housing.

In order to save the school, to restore it to its former glory, in order for the youth of Burlington and surrounding communities to continue to be inspired by art, in all its forms, let's stand together to help rebuild Apollo into the Apollo School of The Arts.

The Apollo School of The arts Mission is to introduce, educate and inspire students in the fine and performing arts, to provide the platform for students to collaborate on projects of a much larger scale, and to help guide them on their desired career path.

The school would offer preschool and adult classes as well.

Let's put a stop to tearing down historic buildings or turning them into low - income housing projects that will only threaten the neighborhood around them. Let's save Apollo for all future generations to enjoy!
