I’ve been a Basingstoke Bison fan for over a decade, not only could our team suffer if this goes ahead, the fans will too. Not only this, but not having a leisurely activity like this in Basingstoke will cause great upset to so many, Young’ and old.

All three of my kids skate. My eldest has ADHD and it is the only sport that we have found where he enjoys himself and keeps fit.

The ice rink in Basingstoke brings people together from many areas of the community. It provides a hub where people of all ages can enjoy watching a game of ice hockey and have fun skating with their family. It provides a well structured junior development path that has produced GB international quality players. To lose this facility would be a huge mistake for Basingstoke council as it would deny the electorate a much valued and popular facility.

As one of the original 1988 Basingstoke Beavers players I have a strong connection to the rink, and the town of Basingstoke. I feel the loss of yet another rink in this country will be a disaster. The Bison are without doubt the most successful sporting team the town has ever had and it will be a travesty if the dedicated people behind the club and the loyal supporters are deprived of the facility. I hope there is a positive outcome to this awful situation.

The ice rink was my first job and gave me the opportunity to play hockey and make friends for life! Would be such a shame to close. We need the Ice rink in the community!!

My son plays ice hockey at Basingstoke and it’s an excellent club. We need to keep the ice rink as it serves not just hockey but figure skating and pleasure for many families.
