If they opened it to the public later than 6 on other nights of the week, looked into marketing etc. It could be viable for planet ice

Hockey needs this rink, Planet Ice will walk away from this site if the council do not do something to include an ice sports facility in the plans for the new leisure complex. It is clearly the heart & soul of the Basingstoke community & can be a huge success of you let it! At the very least work with Planet Ice to find an alternate site in the area for a new facility. A real shame these things have been overlooked.

I live near Cardiff and as most of you will know the trials and tribulations of the Cardiff Devils Ice rink over the past decade or so, I feel your pain at the possibility of the Basingstoke rink disappearing. Hopefully you can save it. Good luck.

we have been here many times for comps and when visiting the area. Lots of kids use this facility. Loads of moaning about kids being on street corners etc but you take away some where they can go and enjoy!

My daughter has tried all sports from gymnastics to tennis, swimming, karate, netball... but skating is her true love. It could be her career. Don’t take that chance away from her. Thank you.

As there are very few ice rinks in the uk, it is amazing the council does not try and exploit that fact. Also it is amazing that they do not appreciate all the hard work from all the people involved in the various clubs which use the ice rink. All of these people work incredibly hard to keep their clubs functioning. I think some one had better wake up and listen to the people who use the rink.
Save the Basingstoke Ice rink
