Now, over 150 years after the Civil War, Ettrick residents and local businesses like, Virginia State University, Ettrick Deli, Flowers With Style, Jeff's Place, Compact Autoworks, Appomattox Drug Store, churches and the NEW BUSINESSES that WILL BE LOCATED in the upcoming 25,000 square feet of Retail Space ON CHESTERFIELD AVE., can reap the economic opportunity that increased traffic from a rebuilt AMTRAK Train Station can bring to this community, IF it stays in Ettrick!
Colonial Heights has Kroger coming! That's great!
Petersburg can develop Exit 52 (Washington St. exit) with a new hotel, etc.! That will be awesome!
Ettrick needs this AMTRAK Train Station to enhance its economic impact in this area.
We're all in this together and there's enough "OPPORTUNITY" to go around, so the entire Tri-Cities can thrive!

I have spent my mornings walking past the empty storefronts on Chesterfield Avenue and imagining the life this station breathes back into our streets. While the officials remain quiet for now, your signatures prove that our community will not be overlooked as the region plans its future.

Seeing this momentum grow for our station fills me with so much hope for the future of Ettrick. My neighbors and local business owners deserve this chance to thrive and it is clear we are finally being heard.

Please keep Amtrak in Ettrick. It is too far for me to catch the train in Richmond when I live here in Ettrick. I have to pay extra to leave my car plus fight traffic for hours to get home from a long trip. Leave the train station where it is and let the people who work there keep their jobs at this convenient location!
With easy access in a less congested area but still serving both city and rural communities this train station is a jewel for the Petersburg - Colonial Heights- Ettrick area.
If you close our station we will have to go to Richmond Virginia. We have limited transportation in our city. Please don't cripple us anymore
Keep train station in ettrock. Petersburg has the bus transportation..it's sou h easier for vsu students to have assess to.

Why move the Amtrak station from this community? I witness countless VSU students have the convenience of walking with their suitcases in tow to the Amtrak station. Colonial Heights is too far and too congested for these students to walk. Ettrick, as a community, has already been stripped of so much in terms of VSU development. Why continue to strip this community of additional revenue that helps support our elementary and high school?
Please keep Amtrak in Ettrick. It is too far for me to catch the train in Richmond when I live here in Ettrick.
