How many children's lives are the courts going to put at risk...here is a good parent who has been there and then you have the mother who has not been there and you want to take this child from the good parent? What the hell is wrong with this country? Do the right thing and leave Alex with his Dad who has obviously been taking amazing care of him and loving him!! I don't know them personally, but I know how to this day many courts are favoring the mother's...back in 1974 my father was given custody of my sister and I...it has been done and should continue being done if the father is deemed the better parent...plain and simple!!

This is totally irresponsible on the Court;s behalf. The child is thriving - look at the mother's history and leave the child where he is. You mess up enough lives with the children in the CPS system - do not undertake to do the same here

As a father with custody of my 2 children for over half their lives. The courts need to make the right choice here. There are as many dead beat mom's out there as dads. If she wants to be a part of his life great, but with her choices it should be done by visitation not custody. I have raised to wonderful straight A respectful kids on my own as I'm sure this dad van and will. Don't change this kids life around because now she wants to be a part of his life.
