I am a Medicaid Service Coordinator and Self Advocacy Advisor for people with special needs in upstate NY. I have 2 nephews who are blind and autistic and i know my sister battles the school district constantly. Schools need to realize that people with special needs are not an isolated phenomenon and that most go un-diagnosed. Schools need to realize this and take action to provide all children with a good education among their peers and friends...in their own schools...in their own communties!

Having personally experienced both the best and worst of the WHBSB I can say with authority that there must be changes to the students with disabilities aspect of the district. Every child should be able to benefit from the wonderful things that the district has to offer. Aiden deserves to be able to stay in the community
