Keep Ms Waters with Ocean Air/DMUSD , for the success of various Science Programs at Ocean Air

We would definitely never want to lose such an amazing and hardworking teacher as Mrs. Waters. It will be a great loss to OA if she leaves.

Never have I had a teacher as wonderful as Mrs. Waters. Ocean Air's Science Olympiad is able to compete with the top middle schools only because of how involved and dedicated she is. The success of Ocean Air has been credited to the hard work of kids and the support of parents, and while that may be true, Mrs. Waters is the biggest factor in our victory. During my four years as her student, I was given opportunities to learn about things that I never thought I would be interested in, but picked up and enjoyed quickly. Letting go of such a powerful asset is something that any reasonable person would never do, and I do hope that the school seriously reconsiders this decision.

Please keep Ms.Waters at Ocean Air! She is one of the most dedicated and hardworking teachers I've ever had!

I would like to voice my agreement with this petition to keep Ms. Waters with OA. I have been a longtime alumni of OA, and am now an upcoming college freshman. Ms. Waters has been a great help through my elementary through my high school career, with Science Olympiad. I can think of no better teacher to keep the role of "science teacher" at Ocean Air Elementary School, given the fact that no other teacher there specializes in science.

Mrs. Waters was the most dedicated and passionate science teacher I have ever had. She helped spark my interest in science and I hope that she will be able to continue inspiring students at Ocean Air.

Imagine the Raptors let Kawhi Leonard leave... would they win the NBA? Ms Waters is one of the secrets Ocean Air is among the best schools in California. Her dedication and inspiration for the kids is so important. You have now the opportunity to show the kids (and there parents) that your leadership skills, admit the mistake, and let her keep doing what she loves to do: teach science and influence the future of this country.

Ms. Waters is one of THE MOST DEDICATED teachers at Ocean Air, and we have a lot of them! She is the ONLY one who volunteers to work carnival booths, and she leads SO many clubs and programs! I have volunteered in her class at least once a week for the last 6 years. Please don’t deprive SO many kids of a teacher that will give everything for her students!

Support Ms. Waters without any reservations. My kid was in her Science Olympiad program and I had the pleasure to volunteer for the program. Ms. Waters is one of the most dedicated teachers that I have ever know. Please retain her. How could I explain to my kid about this?

My kids loved Ms Waters. We want to know why? Who is the intended replacement?

It is very hard to find someone who is as dedicated as Ms. Waters in teaching our kids science. It would be a huge loss to the school.

As an Ocean Air graduate, I've seen firsthand Ms. Water's love for the sciences and passion for teaching us students. Alongside the memorable Science Olympiad experiences made possible by Mrs. Water's laborious preparation and dedication outside of school hours, I really enjoyed many of the activities we did under her instruction. My favorite activity was making K'NEX towers to be made "earthquake proof", which made me interested in geology and helped me understand physics concepts that came up again in high school and middle school level education. As one of the most dedicated teachers I had at Ocean Air, I believe Ms. Waters should not be laid off.

Our daughter was in the OA science olympiad team from 2014 - 2016 and my wife and I were coaches in 2015 - 2016. Mrs Walters commitment to science olympiad was unsurpassed in my experience. She worked tirelessly to ensure that the students and coaches got whatever they needed, which underpinned the success of the team in the state competition. She literally never stopped working and could be reached at any time of the day, often responding to emails during the early hours. She is truly one of the exceptional teachers that has made Ocean Air an exceptional school. Please retain Mrs Walters and allow her to continue educating our children.

Ms. Waters has been an incredible inspiration to our daughter Katia and is the main reason why she loves science so much. DMUSD and Ocean Air better come to their senses and keep this inspiring teacher!!!

Stacie was my daughter's Science teacher when she was in Ocean Air 4 yrs ago. Stacie generated the love of Science in her and that is one of her reasons that she is so good at it. Stacie's participation in Science field day and involvement in scientific experiments for the students have been very valuable for her past students. I hope she will be able to continue and do that for the current students as well.

Ms. Waters is an excellent teacher. Many people have written about the amazing work she does for the Science Olympiad, Science field day, Innovation Fair etc. I have personally seen her encouraging my daugter to think outside the box and devlop a passion for science from kindergarten. This year she called me and my husband to give suggestions for improving my daugter’s presentation for the Innovation Fair at 7:30 in the evening which is way past the normal school hours. I was so touched to see the amount of effort she puts in with individual students and her dedication to helping them excel. We need more teachers like her, not less.

Mrs Waters is a very dedicated and inspiring teacher at OA. We need her to stay and continue our fabulous science program.

Mrs Waters is the reason for Ocean's air excellent success in STEM. We have the medals from Science Olympiads to prove. Ocean Air kids are competing with middle schoolers and coming out on top. Please keep her & empower Mrs Waters more in what she is doing.
