Keep Ms Waters with Ocean Air/DMUSD , for the success of various Science Programs at Ocean Air

This petition is in response to a decision to discontinue Mrs. Waters's role at Ocean Air School for the 2019-20 school year and beyond.
The purpose of this petition to provide positive feedback for the teaching, mentoring, and tireless support provided by Mrs. Waters to the students at Ocean Air School over the years. Many of us have witnessed this by our personal experiences in supporting the various programs and classes with her.
Mrs. Waters is known as one of the most hardworking teachers in the school, and is always igniting a passion and love for science among the students. She has consistently been a favorite teacher among current and former students. One can understand her tremendous dedication and commitment towards student success and teaching the application of science in daily life by simply seeing all of the programs she runs each year. These include:
- Zoo Crew
- Garden Club
- Plant sale fundraisers
- Rubik's Cube competition
- Science Field Day
- Innovation Fair (at school and district level)
- Science Olympiad, a program which has become such a huge success that Ocean Air students, despite being competing against students that are two or three grade levels above them, end up winning top medals in these competitions.
- Many more programs.
Some of these programs have made Ocean Air standout among other regional schools. We consistently hear comments on these lines, "I wish we had Science Olympiad like Ocean Air at our school".
Through this petition, we are requesting the School & District management to reconsider this decision and to keep Ms Waters with Ocean Air.

The current momentum confirms that the school administration must address the impact of removing these science programs. I am now preparing a formal packet to present these signatures and testimonials directly to the district board members.

Mrs. Waters is a dedicated teacher who has encouraged many kids to pursue science. She spends so much personal time in organizing Science Field Day, Science Olympiad and other programs, which have brought much prestige to Ocean Air. It will be quite difficult to fill her shoes.
As a former Science Olympiad coach and father of an Ocean Air graduate, I have personally witnessed Ms. Waters' dedication and leadership. She has been a valuable contributor to making Ocean Air a great school.
We have worked with Ms.Waters for the past 8years and have volunteered in many events she organized and have lovrd the opportunities that my children got..... Not only did they get curious about science but also volunteers to teach other kids. We are so blessed for the opportunities.
Support Ms. Waters without any reservations. My kid was in her Science Olympiad program and I had the pleasure to volunteer for the program. Ms. Waters is one of the most dedicated teachers that I have ever know. Please retain her. How could I explain to my kid about this?
Ms. Waters approach with kids is great, and her dedication to show kids that science is everywhere around them always makes even the most distracted child pay attention. I have seen this in person. Ocean Air and our children benefit from her experience and dedication.
We would definitely never want to lose such an amazing and hardworking teacher as Mrs. Waters. It will be a great loss to OA if she leaves.
Never have I had a teacher as wonderful as Mrs. Waters. Ocean Air's Science Olympiad is able to compete with the top middle schools only because of how involved and dedicated she is. The success of Ocean Air has been credited to the hard work of kids and the support of parents, and while that may be true, Mrs. Waters is the biggest factor in our victory. During my four years as her student, I was given opportunities to learn about things that I never thought I would be interested in, but picked up and enjoyed quickly. Letting go of such a powerful asset is something that any reasonable person would never do, and I do hope that the school seriously reconsiders this decision.

She was the SO coach for my daughter several years ago. As a voluteer coach, I knew the efforts 1st hand she put in. Now my son is enjoying her science teaching. I wish she would receive a fair treatment.
