There are already only two very infrequent buses to kirkheaton and it would be stupid to take away one of them.

I get this bus every day from ridgeway to kirkheaton to get my children to school, I have one child in nursery and one in year 5, in kirkheaton school which means I get the bus up in morning and back then again at lunch time to pick my child up from nursery at 12 and back then again at school close to get my 9 year old then back, that is 6 times a day I use the 371, how much would this cost me in taxis as I dont drive, or do I walk my 4 and 9 year old up to 10 miles a day?

My son catches the 8am bus every morning and goes on to catch a further first bus to work. Remove this service and this would cost my son £30+ a week compared to £15 a week. So in result he would be calling me to collect him from Dalton and who’s paying my petrol money!!! But then again he would be 100% guaranteed a seat!!

This link to HRI is vital for the elderly and infirm with no car or nearby family to help...last time it was withdrawn it took two buses and an earlier start but I was still late for appointments ...

This service is extra to the 262 and is a welcome addition. It helps for those needing to get to HRI in one journey. The 262 has proved to be unreliable, either missing totally or breaking down.

I use this bus service regularly for work and visiting my elderly mother in law. And it is more reliable than the 262
