Dear CRS 4th Grade Parents, It has come to our attention that there is a plan to have our children split amongst two 5th grade sections as opposed to the current three 4th grade sections. That would mean that we would have about 20 children per class (compared to the current 13-14 per class). My husband and I, along with many other parents, feel that two classes will not meet the demands of our children. The current makeup and characteristics of the current 4th grade class requires that they be spread between three classes again next year. This will allow them more time to mature and grow academically. We had a similar situation last year; we voiced our concerns and managed to keep the three sections for this year. Given that the circumstances have not changed, we believe we can do this again and keep the three sections for one more year. Furthermore, there are three sections already in the budget for next year! We need to reach out to our Board of Education members and Dr. Romano and voice our concerns. The Board will be voting on this issue at its next meeting held at FAMS on Wednesday April 16th, at 8pm. We ask that you please sign this petition and if possible, come to the meeting. Thank you, Tal Millet
I honestly never thought this would gain so much traction so quickly and seeing all these names popping up is just wild. It makes me feel much better about going into the meeting knowing I am not the only one stressed about these class sizes because honestly my head was spinning thinking about it alone.
