I convince more and more patients that dental insurance is the opposite of medical insurance and practically pointless. This will continue to occur and patients will realize this unless something changes.

Long overdue, Insurance companies have been eroding the ability for practices to grow, properly compensate their employees, and have the ability to modernize and purchase the new and expensive equipment necessary to practice their procedures in the same manner that is now considered standard in the dental teaching institutions in the U.S.A.

Our patients often have to choose which tooth to restore first because they will meet their insurance max with a single procedure after they have spent their allowed amounts for the comprehensive exam, and radiographs.

The cost of providing care and dental premiums keep increasing while maximum benefits remain stagnant at levels that have been in place for over 40 years. Insurance company profits have increased as well. Time to rectify the situation.

Their limits on policies have been much too low for years and it’s high time that the KDA step into the fight as well as looking into their delays on payments!

dental insurance had a 1000-2000 maximum.... in the 80's. that covered A LOT MORE work patients desperately need.

The cost of healthcare is designed to be a shared cost between the insurance co (benefits), the provider (write offs) and the patient (copays). As inflation has risen, the patient copays and provider write offs are feeling much bigger because everything cost so much more. But multibillion dollar companies continue to keep reimbursement rates stagnant, and add policies that make the provider's job more difficult and patient's care less ideal. An increase in reimbursement rates is a step in the right direction.
