Kansas City has a unique opportunity to be remembered in history as a bastion of hope against political demagoguery that is erasing hundreds of years of history. Kansas and Missouri are erasing people who have lived in peace and joy with their communities for generations with new age Jim Crow laws. In the face of this Kansas City can stand against extremely amoral political pandering that is the result of extremely under performing results in the last election cycle. Now legislators can stand up against the polarization of issues and theft of the society that we can all live together in.

Please give our gender nonconforming, trans, and non-binary siblings gender affirming care. Gender affirming care is healthcare!

Our Kansas and Missouri trans friends absolutely need and deserve a space where they can get the love, care and treatment they need. Let’s set the bar and show the world what it means to be loving and inclusive by making KC a sanctuary. Thank you!

We need to make a change! I love Missouri, and I don't want anyone in my community to feel unsafe or unsupported just for living and breathing!

Current policy proposals are a regression of human rights, and they are impacting community mental health. This can lead to larger consequences, such as increased rates of suicide and self-harm, a higher burden on the community mental health system, public unrest, and possibly protest and crime.

I am proud to stand with other social workers who support health care for all and for Kansas City Missouri to be a safe haven for gender affirming care in Missouri.
