KC Activity register non-recognised breeds
Registration with the Activity Register is for all dogs, both pedigree and non-pedigree. However, if you have a non-recognised breed, even though pedigree, it will be put on the Activity Register as Crossbreed. This is the case for the English Shepherd. Although registerable with the ESCR and the UKC in USA, because these registering bodies do not have a reciprocal arrangement with our KC, our KC does not recognise them. This is fine with English Shepherd owners. What we find confusing and erroneous is the fact that they have to be registered as crossbreeds, even though we can produce 5 generation pedigrees for our dogs. We are NOT asking for recognition. What we are asking for is for non recognised breeds to be registered as just that, "Not Recognised". We feel that this label is a true description; Crossbreed is not.
