Justice For Kayla
On 1/21/2007 @ 2:30am there was a fatal car crash involving four teens. They were parked on Musselman Road in Hanover, PA. A police officer approached them on foot. The driver of the car said "Watch This" and sped down the road. He lost control and hit two trees. Kayla was killed instantly. The driver of the car turned 18-years old two days after the crash. Charges were filed on or about 6/15/07. We had a decertification hearing on 1/30/08. On 2/14/08 Judge Bortner ruled for for the case to be moved to juvenile court. The District Attorney handeling the case appealed the ruling. The appeal was heard on 1/14/09. We are still waiting to hear of the outcome, which we were told by the Victim Advocate involved with this case that there is no time table on the deciision. There are numerous charges against the driver. Starting with third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle while under the influence, two counts of aggravated assult, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, fleeing or attempting to elude police, possession of paraphernalia and marijuana, driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, transportation of liquor and reckless driving. My intention is to forward this to whom ever necessary to pass stiffer laws. Please help me. I don't want to see another young person lose their life and no one held accountable for it. If these teens are old enough to commit serious crimes then they are old enough to pay for them.

I Cherri Miller (Kayla's Mother) am sponsoring the petition. I know what my family has been through. I just feel each of us no matter what our age is should be held accountable for our actions.
