The color theme is: Blood Carmine/Dirty Gold/Black
Blood Carmine- represents all the 1,833 people love ones that we will miss forever that died doing Katrina
Dirty Gold/Black- represents the joy of the WhoDat Nation New Orleans Saints winnning the SuperBowl (February 7, 2010). Bringing a positive feeling to overshadow the struggle of Hurricane Katrina.
Background:
Born and raised in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana, Chavier Johnson, grew up during the 80's with the Treme as the backdrop of his developmental years.
August 29, 2005 changed what he and rest of the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas knew of their world when Hurricane Katrina blew through their homes, hearts and minds.
Fast Forward to 2014, as every new day continues to bring healing and plenty of good physical restoration, Katrina's damaging effects are still felt in the lives of so many people who have lost more than tangible comforts.
Nike came to New Orleans, February, 13, 2014, with their Nike Designer All-Star Weekend. Chavier sat down with Nike Designer, Eric Sandy, to come up with the idea of a unique Katrina series Jordan Brand/Nike series. This first series of its kind, done for the first time in the history of any sneaker company, will help to bring remembrance and continue the healing process for those who have felt so much in the wake of such a catastrophe.
Jordan Brand/Chavier collaboration will be dedicated to the estimated 1,833 lives lost and support Katrina events throughout the region.

I stand behind this cause. Having seen the aftermath of Katrina I think it would be a great tribute to honor those we lost and show our respect and dedication to rebuilding the city and culture we love so much.
I was in Hurricane Katrina also , This storm completely tore my whole sit apart , many people think that my family and other families were helped not knowing we are still suffering and not fully recovered emotionally or physically !
Would love to see a 1 drop with some actual meaning behind it. Not just another Nike flood of the market with OG colors or bad ideas with over priced retail tags. If these were to release I'd extend my resources to land a size 10.5. Great concept behind this retro.
Size 10. Chavier has created not only an eye-catching design that will surely sell, but a sentimental one. He has dedicated it to the city of New Orleans in so many ways and after the catastrophe that was Hurricane Katrina, I think the nation deserves a shoe in remembrance.
This would be a nice addition to any sneaker collectors collection especially those of us who lost everything during this tragic event.....this shows the hardships and the positives as well. Size 9.5

I Am signing this petition as an avid sneakerhead, and Jordan Brand supporter, I feel that the meaning behind this sneaker is something that we need in the sneaker culture. If this is released, this could pave the way for other sneakers to be released that have an additional meaning behind it.
