Please read and forward this petition to your players, parents, and all users of Kasch Park.
I've been in communication with the City of Everett Parks Department about why netting was not installed on the east side of Kasch #1 during the renovation of the fields. I think we're all tired of chasing balls and climbing fences, right?
I've spoken to and/or collected information from Cory Rettenmier, Russell Dance, and Lori Cummings from the City of Everett. They never intended to put nets there and now claim there is no money in the budget to install them now that the project is complete. I've appealed to them to reconsider but I have run into bureaucratic dialogue and excuses about funding.
Please consider signing this online petition so I can present to the City of Everett to put pressure on them to open this issue for further review.
I have many more details about what was discussed with them that I will provide to everyone at a later date, but for now please just sign in support of this issue.
Your suggestions are welcome and if you know of any ways to assist in putting pressure on the City, please let me know.

The City of Everett continues to cite budgetary constraints as the primary reason for their inaction regarding the field netting. I am currently compiling a formal request for a site assessment to challenge their position. Your signatures provide the necessary leverage to keep this conversation active with the Parks Department.

I suspect the cost of installing a net is lower than the potential loss from a premises liability suit. Chasing balls over the fence and down the hill is a known unsafe condition that presents an unreasonable risk of harm. WPI 120.07 If the City remains unresponsive, maybe their insurance carrier would be a more helpful resource.
I lost a $130.00 ball here because of the difficulty in chasing with the summer growth. When i went to find it at halftime it was gone.
PLEASE install nets on field 1! I both play on and coach on the field and retrieving game balls is not fun, safe, nor should it be necessary. Thank you!
As a coach for Silver Lake Soccer Club, I cannot fathom why nets would not be placed here, or why nets were never considered in this spot, when they were put up on the other fields. Having children and/or adults climb fences to retrieve soccer balls is an injury waiting to happen. Please do the right thing and install the netting, for the safety of the park users.
Considering that there are high fences/nets around the other two fields, but not around this field, the city's excuses seem specious at best.

Kasch has needed netting since it was designed. I have witnesses adults, children, players, coaches, and spectators get there clothes and or skin hung up on the top of the fence trying to retrieve stray balls. This needs netting like the other fields. Please find funding for this project.
