Dalyan'Carettaları'na 36 yıl annelik yapan değerli insan June Haimoff - namıdiğer Kaptan June-, bugün 23 Nisan 2022 tarihinde aramızdan fiziken ayrıldın. Ancak, bu güzelim kaplumbağaları öksüz bırakmadın. Evlatların olarak gördüğün ve koruduğun Carettaları ve İztuzu sahilini aydınlattığın binlerce anne ve babaya emanet ettin. Carettaların nesillerini sürdürebilmeleri için yaptığın 36 yıllık mücadele ve harcadığın paha biçilmez emek ve adeta bir ırmak gibi akıttığın sevgi ile Dalan İztuzu'sahili yöresinde daha iyi bir dünya yaratarak arkanda bıraktın. Ve insan nesli ve Carettalar bu yörede hayatlarını sürdürdükçe sen de onlarla birlikte yaşayacaksin. Sadece Carettalar değil, doğanın parçası olan tüm insanlar da sana minnettar Kaptan June. Ruhun şad olsun, yıldızlar sana eşlik etsin güzel insan.

We have visited Dalyan and the Turtle Sanctuary many times. All the great work they are doing could be undone by using feeding as a tourist attraction.

I was at Iztuzu Beach this morning. Some visitors are totally ignorant. More interaction with the public is necessary.

My 10 year old is obsessed with turtles. I’d love him to see them thriving in their natural habitat. I think kids care more than most adults.
