The health, wealth and performance of our economy is inextricably tied to the health and well-being of our community. One-size does not fit all, in categorically grouping boutique fitness businesses with large-scale gyms in our metro.

The Body Lab is so very important to the community and cannot survive waiting much longer to re-open. They always make their clients’ safety and healthy as their top priority and will continue to do so as they serve 10 people at a time. Keep this amazing small business in business!!!

The body lab is a small studio that meets the criteria of a small business and the equipments is spread apart to meet social distancing criteria.

Body Lab is not a gym. Class sizes are always limited to like 10 or 12. They could easily limit to 10.

We also own a training studio and had policies in place prior to lock down to include: temp checks on everyone, health screening protocol, mandatory hand washing before and after sessions and hand sanitizer is out at all times, wiping everything down after each use with extremely high quality commercial disinfectant, no more than 10 in facility for 3800 sq feet, social distancing and optional use of nitrile gloves for workout. We will incorporate mask usage by trainers whenever in facility! Training studios can be monitored much more efficiently than a big box gym and shouldn’t be grouped into the same category! We record everyone in studio as well for record keeping! Your efforts are much appreciated in this petition!

I support this stance as a small business owner and health professional. If the State of Kansas is concerned with the safety of such businesses, they should be vetted individually (similar to a health inspector inspecting a restaurant/food service).
