The residents of the Riverwood National Golf Course community, which is comprised of 150 plus single family homes and townhomes, would like to ask the City of Otsego Minnesota to consider installing a planned trail along Kadler Avenue sooner than the sometime in the future installation but instead in the near future.
The ideal trail path would be south of County Road 39 ultimately to 80th Street. At a minimum, a trail from County Road 39 to 90th Street would be a great start.
The shoulder along Kadler Avenue is heavily used by individuals walking, jogging or biking with destinations of County Road 39, Lily Pond Park, Norin Landing Park or just used for personal fitness and recreation. Kadler Avenue has a speed limit of 45 miles per hour and has a very small shoulder which can make sharing the road a potentially dangerous situation.
Thank you for your consideration.

I am a daily walker on Kadler Ave. and have always thought this is a need for safety. I walk off the road closer to the ditch when a passing vehicles goes by. Some don’t slow down or move over. This would be so great for everyone’s safety.

Surrounding communities have well developed trail systems, Otsego needs to put more emphasis on expanding its trail system. A trail along Kadler between hwy 39 and 80th avenue would be heavily used. As it is now, it's to dangerous for bikes or walkers. Kadler has NO shoulder at all. The only option is to walk in the traffic lane.

Crossing County Rd 39 with kids is VERY scary. I would love to see a crosswalk there with flashing lights perhaps-- in addition to the path itself.

Thank you Kitty for starting this. With the updated park, I see more and more kids heading down Kadler. Currently Kadler is not often monitored for speed and we all know people are not driving the speed limit.

Likely take this walk 6 out of 7 days per week - Contestably moving in to the Weeds to avoid cars - Cars are always moving across lanes to avoid people - Can create a dangerous situation for both Cars and pedestrians

My wife and I enjoy walking on the trail to Norin Landing, however, the stretch from Riverwood to CR 39 on Kadler is very dangerous. Please complete this vital connection to the existing Kadler trail. Thanks.

I bike that road frequently in the Summer to get to Norin Park.
