I watched Serving Life and your story really caught my attention. I give you a lot of respect for being a Hospice volunteer. I did it as a nurse for one day, and my frail heart couldn't do it. I'm signing the petition because I believe in second chances. Plus life without parole when you didn't even kill the person is astonishing and too extreme. Take Care and God Bless!

He truly needs a second chance in the free world. It takes a big heart to do what he and the other men are doing for the hospice program. God bless.

Just has a bold, strong, iconic character that i have only seen in very few people. He touches hearts on a daily basis to give back for a mistake he has made. Free this man, to let the public know there is a second chance for change.

If a child molester can get out and or only have probation this man should definitely be free. We all make mistakes and he wasn't in the right. But he did not pull the trigger nor know about it. This man should be freed. Not only is it in humane, it's unjust. I know he could make a difference in the world and locking this man up for life is just wrong.

Justin seems like such a kind person. I could tell he was remorseful. God bless Justin. Hope he is let out soon.

I believe he has served enough time for the crime that was commited please free Justin !

Free justin

I have worked in a maximum-security prison. There are inmates who should be there forever and have earned the title for "serving life". Then there are cases like this that are not typical. One stupid hour of his life with no priors or history of a life of crime and not disconnected enough with humanity to pull the trigger. At nineteen his brain is not entirely matured enough to stop himself from making poor decisions on a biological level. Should he pay for his part in the crime? He absolutely should. Should he spend life in prison without the possibility of parole? I don't think so. Unless there is something missing from his story I am not seeing the justification. Serving a full 20-25 years of his youth in prison on the condition that he demonstrates change would be a more reasonable. There are a few in prisons that come out of prison a better person. I believe Justin Granier is one of them. His actions fit someone who is clinging to humanity despite being in one of the worst places you could live your life. The message of law enforcement would still be met, "Don't get involved with those who commit crimes and don't do drugs". He has paid the price of some of the most prime years of his life for a stupid decision. There is a difference between pulling the trigger in a premeditated murder and making the decision to be at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. Our prisons are full, we spend too much money on locking them away and recidivism is high. What are we doing wrong and what are we doing right? Much more heinous people and the crimes they commit get lighter sentences. I'm not saying that a life sentence for 2nd degree murder is out of the question but should be based on the circumstances. Reasonable belief that is not proven in court for actually directly and intentionally killing someone would be one of those instances and a call a judge should make. I think you would have a bit less violence in prison if they also were given small credit

I think he's served his time, Fuck mandatory minimum sentencing!

God's ways are beyond our comprehension, but He has a purpose for everything that happens and Justin is doing His Father's business...sharing the love of Christ with those who have no hope.

Instead of having this man in prison for life at the expense of tax payer's dollars, he could be out serving the world and contributing in a positive and meaningful way in his community. This was a shameful sentencing.

Justin should be freed!
