Good luck to Justin. I hope he is released soon enough. Good to see he has an amazing good nature for being in jail. It just shows his story can happen to anyone by making a mistake or being in the wrong place at such a young age. I hope his story can teach other. Take care. I saw his story on Serving life too. Great story. Such a shame. Looks like he has learned from his mistake And his doing good. I hope that counts. But such a long sentence for just being there. I think he has learned his lesson.

Free Justin. A poor decision should not cost him his lifetime in society. I believe he has definitely served his time and his regret is real and deep. 12 years is long enough. Thank you

I first saw Justin's story on the documentary 'Serving Life'. As a provisional psychologist I see the his rehabilitation and strive to help others in receiving redemption. I hope this petition will help Justin in his plight for freedom and the precedent to be set regarding the reconsideration for mandatory sentences.

Watching Serving Life in the tv down here in Australia. Cannot believe the harsh sentences some of these men are serving.

I have just finished watching serving life. Heart renching viewing so very powerful.
Justin should be a free man, the mandatory life sentence should be abolished for first offenders. I am mortified there is no avenue for parole. Here is this beautiful young man who can contribute to society what an injustice. Was it premeditated?certainly not, so how can this be mandatory life.
Empathise with this young man he should be free.

This man made a very wrong choice, he acknowledge's this. He has and is trying to justify his wrong, by helping those less fortunate and admitting to his wrong. He is assiting/helping those that are facing their maker... it shows he doesn't have the makings of a killer ever. A second chance is just for this man. Since his misguided youth, his time in prision/hospice carer he has been proven to be a worthy being. He will be an asset to his family now, his future family and society as a whole. Please Lord hear my pray for this young man x

This man made a very wrong choice, he acknowledge's this. He has and is trying to justify his wrong, by helping those less fortunate and admitting to his wrong. He is assiting/helping those that are facing their maker... it shows he doesn't have the makings of a killer ever. A second chance is just for this man. Since his misguided youth, his time in prision/hospice carer he has been proven to be a worthy being. He will be an asset to his family now, his future family and society as a whole. I can not begin to imagine how Justin is feeling, being stuck in prison and treated like perpetrator when he is innocent. How can a state treat all people the same? When I was in my late teens I moved to America. I attended school and I remember vividly the pledge of allegiance. The part that has always stuck with me is With liberty and justice for all. Where is Justin's liberty and justice?

I am watching Serving Life and I cannot understand how anyone could be sentenced to life when they were not even present for the murder. The time needs to fit the crime.
