Truly sadden by this story! I pray that he gets his freedom. This is cruel and unusual punishment. Everyone makes mistakes. He's served ENOUGH time already.

Sentencing laws need to reflect the severity of the crime. They need to take into account all factors. Reform the sentencing laws in LA and all the states.

I literally just finished watching the documentary "serving life". Justin's personality was so compelling I decided to look him up on the internet to see if I could figure out how he's doing, then I ran across this petition. I understand there's tons of cases where convicts claim to be a changed man after serving x amount of years (whether it be true or not) but Justin's situation is unique. I don't think murder should be taken lightly but I don't necessarily think it's fair either to be given a life sentence when you weren't the man behind the gun, let alone even aware that the murder was going to happen. It'd be different if he agreed to be the getaway driver for example but according to his story that's not the case. I truly believe Justin does not belong in prison, especially for life. He seems like he has a lot of potential which can't be put to good use while being incarcerated.

I am watching your story and I feel its not fair what the state is doing to you. I don't understand the system. Not even child molesters and rapist get t hat type of sentence.
