Came across your story while writing an essay about how unfair our justice system is. Prayers going up

If what I read is true, this is a disgrace for our justice system. To know nothing of a crime, be no part of it at all and be sentenced to fife without parole is criminal. At most he should have received a very few years, 5 at the most. He deserves to be out of there now.

Life prison should not be for land crimes. They should be for multiple offenders who had weapons or violent crimes. Life without parole is for pedophiles and 1st degree murderers and rapists.

Justin your father & I are 1st cousins. My Daddy was Uncle Dee & your Grandma Shirley is his sister. Justin even if we were not related I feel you received an unfair sentence. Your family loves you very much & don't intend to stop fighting for you. I thought it was a crying shame how you were taken to Aunt Shirley's wake shakled & chained. It made me cry. But you at least were able to say good-bye. I talked to your father at Ourso's last Sat Our cousin "Wanda Fife Mayers" lost her battle with cancer. She was a courageous woman. All I can say to you is watch your back & hold your head high cause Jesus Christ knows you & he knows your heart! I'll continue praying for you to come home. May the Good Lord give those making such horrible decisions concerning your life find it in they're heart to resend the life sentence on the role you played in that terrible crime... That is terrible what they've done to him. Our class just watched "Serving Life" yesterday, and I couldn't help but feel so bad for him. It's almost as if they want civilians to act like police. What if he were to try and stop it and got killed himself. Is that what they're looking for people to do ?!?

I hope Jason will be released from prison and have the opportunity to attend college and live the rest of his life helping others.

I know Justin. He's a good guy, a really good guy. The laws in Louisians are ridiculous, that's why Louisiana has the highest incarnation rate in the World!

I believe everyone should have a second chance. Justin, has severed many years and now it's time for him to be released and start a new life. I believe he would adjust very well and he has many friends and close family to back him along his journey.

Louisiana is controlling instead of protecting. Every time the state is faced with a situation that requires action, the stiffen a penalty or manipulate a law. They do this for publis support. The Public is US ! We need to stand up and stand together against these adolescent decisions that are being made in our judicial and legislative offices for our protection and no regard for humannity . Human life is a tool they use to solve problems instead of solving the problem for human life. This guy was targeted as others are, to put a case to rest. It doesn't matter to the DA's office if they solve a crime just if they can send someone to prison.

I went to school with Justin, and what I remeber most is his smile besides being a cutie! Justin I am praying for you and your family, much love to you all!
