If they were unwanted, could they not have been trained (including housetraining) and re-homed? This could have, maybe, been done by the staff at the rescue centre/s, if the staff at Whistler wouldn't/couldn't take the time to train them themselves.
Those poor dogs had worked all their lives. As it is now, I wouldn't want to go dog-sledding unless I was sure that A) the dogs were well-cared for and well-loved (named, etc.).
B) The dogs enjoyed it and were not forced to do it against their will.
C) The dogs were not going to be killed or abused unnecessarily.

We need to boycott dog racing, horse racing, and dog sledding- as all the animals are killed after they are no longer profitable!

Why not just put them up for adoption? There are so many people who would have taken them in. Breaking my heart thinking about what they went through.
