The death of Dundeee todler Brandon Lee Muir on March 16th 2008 was a tragic case of child neglect, abuse and murder.
The childs own mother and her boyfriend were charged in relation to the boys death his own mother was charged with assulting him and culpabel homicide by failing to get medical help.
Her co-accused Robert Cunningham was charged with the murder of Brandon.
After a 16day trial Heather Boyd 23, was acquitted of the culpable homicide of Brandon Muir, aged 23 months, for failing to get him medical help following an alleged assault by her partner Robert Cunningham.
Following a submission from Boyd's defence lawyer at the High Court in Glasgow, judge John Morris told Boyd she was acquitted of all charges and free to go.
Mr Cunningham is still on trial
Social services were involved with the family it is also believed that just a week before Brandons death social services trid to remove the child from the house but the case was thrown out by the courts who believed the child was in no danger.
This petition calls for a full investigation into the decision to allow Heather Boyd to walk free.
And also calls for a full public enquiry into the whole of the childrenâ
I was looking at the total sitting there and honestly it is just maddening how much momentum we can gather yet there is still so much silence from the people who actually have the power to fix this. If everyone who reads this could just put it on their main feed right now we might finally hit that thousand mark and prove that people have not forgotten what happened to Brandon.

I keep staring at the screen and honestly it feels like the whole world finally woke up to what happened to Brandon. It is overwhelming to see so many people refusing to just let this fade away because he deserved so much better than the silence we have been met with until now.

Absolute disgrace. That poor little boy deserved so much better than the people who were supposed to protect him. Justice for Brandon.

He was just a baby. A helpless baby. If social services tried to take him then someone somewhere clearly saw what was going on. Why was he let back there?

Heartbreaking. My thoughts are with his grandparents. There needs to be a full investigation into why the court let this happen.

Unbelievable. Changes need to be made before another child dies.
