On September 21st, our beloved dog Sammy was attacked and killed by two neighborhood dogs, dogs that we had previously called Animal Control about for being aggressive and running loose. I explained to them that I feared for the safety of my children and for our dog. Animal Control served a warning to the owners of the dogs who spent majority of their time locked up outside in the garage. A month later, Sammy was gone. We've created this petition to bring notice of what has happened to us and we pray that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Animal Control goes on a basis, if they don't see it they can only issue a warning. We want to change this rule, we want the owners of problem dongs to be held accountable for what their animal does when its not properly monitored inside a gated fence or inside their home. We want all pet owners to understand that if your animal attacks another, whether it be an animal or a person that the owner takes full responsibility and doesn't get off with just a warning. We were fortunate enough to have the owners of the dogs that attacked Sammy to give their dogs up because they knew their propensity for violence. Not everyone who goes through this is that lucky. We hope that after reading this you won't hesitate to stand by us and get, Justice For Sammy
