The coach was right for not wanting to continue the game. The boys were already fired up and the fighting would have just escalated. What about Ellwood City's coach being suspended for putting his hands on the players?! It's not fair to punish one and not the other, if at all. Im not even from either district and I agree with what valley's coach did.

I stand up against ignorance and hatred and I stand with my Alma mater to fight against racism. The WPIAL committee needs to do better.

Everyone should be signing this.
For every POC kid that’s been bullied for their skin tone.
For every kid who is bullied because of where they come from.
For every person who has been bullied because they have gone or are currently attending a school in an area of poverty.
For the people who are told to take it.
For the people who are told they’re overreacting.
For the people who are told they should be seen and not heard.
A coach should not be punished because his team defended themselves. These kids should not have been threatened with an ultimatum after reacting to racism. These kids should not be taught that it is inappropriate to stick up for yourself and that things will be taken away from you if you do. Yes, fighting on the field calls for a serious talking to, and possibly a suspension depending on the case. However these kids work their ass off, and so does this coach, and not tolerating racial hate and harassment is not something they should be punished for.
If you live in this town, there should be zero reason for you to not sign this. If you feel that they’re being treated fairly, then you are a part of the problem. Who knows, maybe they’ll take a knee next time.
