The pursuit of justice for Trayvon has reached a significant turning point with the announcement that charges have been filed. This outcome demonstrates the power of collective insistence that every life holds equal value. Please remain attentive as the legal process unfolds.
We are calling for the murder of Trayvon Martin to be investigated as a Federal Hate Crime. It is important to show that all life has equal value; that you can not kill a black youth and not think that there are no consequences to that action. Being that Mr. Zimmerman was not even arrested and detained as a result of him admitting to the death is sending the wrong message to society.
Mr. Martin was an honors student who was on his way to the store to by candy when he was confronted by Mr. Zimmerman. An altercation ensued leaving Mr. Martin fatally shot. Mr. Zimmerman was never arrested for the crime because he claimed self defense in the case. Mr. Martin had no weapon on him. The only thing in his possession was a bag of Skittles candy.
An investigation is still ongoing via the Seminole County Sheriff's department. DA, State Attorney Norm Wolfinger will get their recommendation sometime the week of 3/19 the earliest.

This is just wrong. How do you shoot a kid for walking home with skittles. Justice needs to happen now!
