The department finally folded and reinstated Tazewell after all that intimidation. It is disgusting it took this much public pressure to force them to do the right thing. Stay alert because we are keeping a close watch on how they treat him from here on out.

Help us show that we stand together as a community and we support that Tazewell was wrongfully forced to resign as a CO. Jarred Tazewell was forced to resign as a Corrections Deputy for defending himself against an inmate. The inmate threatened to take the CO to another world with him. He then threw his walker at Tazewell, therefor turning it into a weapon. Tazewell then struck the inmate in the face to back him off. After months of an investigation, they forced him to resign or threatened to terminate him. This was wrong! Please sign this petition if you stand with Tazewell.

The department is hiding behind their internal investigation to bury the truth about how they betrayed one of their own. I am spending every waking hour putting pressure on the administration to explain why they forced a man out for simply surviving a physical attack. They think we will just fade away but they are dead wrong.

There was no way of him knowing if the walker being thrown at him was just the beginning of a life or death attack. We do know that his response to defend himself made it a moot point. He used no more force than was warranted & no retaliatory force was imputed upon the prisoner. Clearly fault can only be found by those who have never faced such danger and live in the protective shadow of those that have.
Enough already. Police and CO’s are being assaulted at rates never heard of. They need to be able to defend themselves. This was in NO WAY A CASE OF EXCESSIVE FORCE. IT WAS PURE MINIMUM FORCE TO ATOP A THREAT. We need to STOP with the PC stuff and start supporting those who fight evil.
The FCSO should be ashamed of themselves for how they went about that investigation. Had there been audio, then none of this would have happened. He is one of the nicest and most family oriented men that I’ve ever come in contact with. That man was not only defending himself, but he was defending his family in the process so that he could come home to them. He did nothing wrong!
This gentlemen is an amazing man and is being treated unjust and unfair! He had been regarded to high standards and been praised for his amazing efforts even siding with sick inmates! I stand with Jarred
An officer being forced out of his job for self defense is absolutely unacceptable. No one would fire or force a doctor to resign for having vaccines against anything he may catch from a patient. So wrong in every way. Now prisoners and criminals will find it acceptable to inflict harm on officers because they will all be afraid to take action in fear of potentially losing their jobs.
This was a shame he never should have been letgo

This was so poorly handled by the Sheriffs Office. Taz is a good man, DOING HIS JOB. Just goes to show you the S.O doesn’t have there Deputies backs
