6 years makes him about 23 when he comes out of prison how can that be right,the people who make the rules on sentencing should think how they would feel if it was there family,they would'nt want the killer out in 6 years.another rule i dont understand is if you have good behavior in prison you get out earlier i agree with everything your doing to get the law changed this country is to soft on crime.all the best in what your doing

Sentence way to light for the crime. He will be out when hes 20 .Still a kid with his whole life ahead of him. He should have got alot more that. What message is it sending to youngsters who are carrying knives.. kill someone. Its ok you'll be out in 3 years

I'm so sorry for your loss. My son has also been murdered and his family and children devastated.
For your son's killer to receive such a lenient sentence is an absolute insult. You, his family, his children deserve proper justice. I hope you get it. It makes me so angry. The impact of your loss will last forever. Knife crime is a growing occurance and needs harsh sentencing. This sentence is no deterrent. Good luck with your appeal, I'm with you on this.

This is yet another shocking example of the failure of the so-called "System". Scores of people who have committed sentences which carry a maximum of life imprisonment, ( manslaughter is one of them ), are being given derisory, disgusting sentences. Maybe the reptile who went out that day with a knife was "only" 17 years old. In WW2, a good number of fighter and bomber pilots were only a year or so older than this. The petitioner is correct. There is NO deterrent in law against carrying and using a knife on someone. 15 years should be the absolute minimum sentence, and even then only in exceptional cases.

Sentences should reflect the devastation that the crimes have on the families. Innocent victims are not represented but the criminals are reported to have had a tough life/upbringing. I think the police do a wonderful job but the courts are diabolical.

I think the sentence is wrong as the young lad went out carrying a knife and he is at the age of knowing what that knife can cause basiclly he knew right from wrong no matter what problems you have had as a kid

If you carry a knife it's to murder someone with.. you don't carry a knife to tickle someone with ..its murder !!!...the system needs to change ..we need to harden up to these crimes and not be soft on them in prisons make them pay for there crime
