This week, Massachusetts fisherman Carlos Rafael pulled up with an amazing 881lb catch of a large tuna fish, a catch that even in this struggling economy, is worth over $400,000. With over 15 tuna permits purchased in a dire attempt to follow every rule, Rafael's fish was taken from him when he arrived at the shoreline by federal agents. Deeming it was unlawful as tuna is only allowed to be caught by "rod and reel" methods, which Rafael's fish had accidentally ended up in his net. This petition is to try and overrun the corruption of government in the matter of them making it impossible to get jobs, pushing a failing economy, and now taking the only means of money making we have left, if we can't find jobs. It is completely insane that we have to have a permit to hunt, fish, and in some states, farm. That is saying we have to have a permit to eat. Please sign the petition so we can fight for Rafael's fair earned fish so that we can finally show the government that we have a right to what we get, law or no law.
