I hope justice is served. Quinton has rights and the officer knows better. He studied law and knows what the law entails. This was a disgusting flaunt of power and the officer should be liable to the full extent of the law. He is not exempt!

Not only should this officer be stood down from his position but he should be jailed for his actions. It is unacceptable to assault any civilian under any circumstances apart from when in fear of your life and Quinton did not pose a threat to any of the officers in that video. He had not been detained for further questioning and thus was free to go. Quinton was under no obligation to answer their questions. Had they taken appropriate action to detain him pending further questioning they'd have a case however he was not detained. What happened prior to the beginning of the video doesn't matter cause when the video starts he is not under arrest. This is pure abuse of power and intimidation. Now an officer who has studies the laws should know that he too is bound by the law and can in no way assault a civilian its called use of force necessary. Quinton did not pose a threat and thus did not deserve to get hit. That is assault. There were no de-escalation techniques employed in the video the officers escalated the situation. This is in no way Quintons fault it falls under a violation of his rights if they were not detaining him which its clear to see they weren't. I'm sickened by this video and hope the officer who struck Quinton is not only stood down from the police force but is also charged with assault. This was a disgusting flaunt of power and a pure attack on a young indigenous man. It needs to stop. The magistrates need to set a standard. It needs to be known that this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable!
