I'll always support Perez. He always initiated a conversation with me even though I never took his class only attended Pickering and played football. He's an amazing teacher.

This breaks my heart because nobody ever realizes that he has done everything for his students! I can name everything start from my freshman year and wanting to give up because no teacher ever treated me as great as Mr.Perez. He sat there for hours on end just trying to help out the ENTIRE SCHOOL!!not because he had to because he genuinely cared for us. Raising money for track, took time out of his life to go and support us at games and events. And you all know we laughed every year when he gave his famous “there can only be one” speech! You all know he’s done so much just for people to turn around and treat him like he’s nothing. I love Mr.Perez like family.the only teacher.Prayers coming to you Mr.Perez.

This breaks my heart because nobody ever realizes that he has done everything for his students! I can name everything start from my freshman year and wanting to give up because no teacher ever treated me as great as Mr.Perez. He sat there for hours on end just trying to help out the ENTIRE SCHOOL!!not because he had to because he genuinely cared for us. Raising money for track, took time out of his life to go and support us at games and events. And you all know we laughed every year when he gave his famous “there can only be one” speech! He shouldn't have written this. Many things are wrong with his words. But after reading everything that the students have written about him. You can't deny he is a great teacher and does in fact have a different type of joking relationship with his students. He seems to have dealt with lot of crap from his students as well. I dont believe he should loose his job over this. Parents, control your bad ass children better.

I’m an African American and have never been racially profiled by Mr. Perez. I was very close to him and I had him for 2 years as a teacher. The best teacher I ever had. This is sense of humor that abides in his character. Condemning here for this is basically character profiling because this is the way he shows humor. No one in my highschool years ever took offense to him so I don’t think it’s accurate to be offended by him one bit now

Mr.perez is a great teacher ! He has helped me since I have been at Pickering . He is the most helpful math teacher I have ever had! He is an intelligent,loving,caring, and humorous man!

I'm not sure how the internal investigation is going or if this will help.... What I am sure of is Mr. Perez's competency and passion for teaching. Mr. Perez is a wonderful teacher who deals with difficult students on a day-to-day basis. He is an instructor who is passionate about his students and it shows. Mr. Perez does so much to ensure his students not only pass the assessments, but to also actually understand the material. He is more than an educator. He is a mentor, a counselor, and a friend.
Although this has gone viral and some people may feel outraged, Mr. Perez should not be reprimanded. If anything, I hope this brings the lack of parenting to light so as to prevent future instances from happening.
