Nano was my friend. I was his manager when he worked at pizza hut. He was a great worker and an even better person.
I just found out about what happened to him today August 31st. I was at the stop light. I read his memorial cross on the side of the road and my heart just dropped. I couldn't believe what I was reading. The news will sadden my for the rest of my life.

My dad was killed by a drunk driver when I was 2 years old; didn’t even get the chance to know my own father. These situations are absolutely ridiculous and 100% preventable and if there was a harsher punishment maybe it wouldn’t be so common.

Wonder if this would have happened if the ethnicities were reversed? Unlikely. Police, prosecutors, all of the fools involved: what is WRONG with you people? DA’s office, I’m an attorney. Remember that oath we took about upholding the law and protecting people? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Grow up and do better.

Nano was my son’s coach. The whole team has taken it really hard. Not only did this lady scar the family’s life for ever but also a whole teams as well. My son is 10 years old and his exact word we’re “that lady should have never gotten out because she did three bad things; she destroyed a family, was on drugs/intoxicated and tried to run from the scene.” If it’s commence sense for a 10 year old to make this determination I hope ELGIN police do the right thing. My heart hurts for his parents. May god be with them.
