This man has dedicated his to teaching! If you review his lesson plans you will be amazed! He stays by his teaching and grading we can not let students not learn and pass them in class

I am a former student of Mr. Scott's. He is one of the most realist, most open minded, and most memorable of teachers I have ever had in all my years of school. I find it absolutely ridiculous of the accusations. Absolutely ridiculous.

Mr. Scott taught me right before the pandemic and he is the kindest teacher I’ve known. He loves every aspect of life so much, including the students he meets. This only makes trouble for a good man that is dedicated to his study because he loves it.

I worked with Mr. Scott at College Park. Students from his class were excited about sharing lessons they had learned. As a colleague, Doug, was inspirational in his approach to teaching science that students could use in their daily lives. I don't understand why he is consistently hassled by administration. A student who doesn't do the work, doesn't deserve a grade better than earned. Let Doug get back to what he does best: educating students for the future.

Mr. Scott was my biology teacher at College Park in 2005. Im confused by the accusations, because his lessons regularly had the Star Trek theme of ignoring the imaginary lines that divide us, and instead using our knowledge of science to make choices that will benefit everyone. We're all connected, Planet Earth, "every day is earth day."
Mr. Scott put in extra effort to get lessons to stick - building props out of toothpicks to convey the scale of deforestation, decorating the classroom like a giant cell, doing his own research and sharing it with his students. I believe he makes that extra effort because he wants every single kid to be engaged and succeed in his class, and make a difference in the world after graduation. "While you're out there trying to make a buck, try to make a difference."

Why in God's name is the MDUSD so damn hell bent on disrespecting and excusing Mr. Scott! It is absolutely ludicrous. First it was the wrongful accusations of a superintendent who was found to be corrupt and given a healthy severance, unfounded claims by parents who can't accept their children don't want to put in effort and succeed so they blame someone but themselves, now it's people using the claim of racism ironically due to the color of one's skin. Let's all admit it. If Mr. Scott was any other color this wouldn't be an issue. Some people need to seriously look inside themselves and admit they are the problem. Mr. Scott has always been an inclusive, engaging, and open minded individual. Without solid evidence, I can never believe he could rightfully and legitimately be labeled racist. Sad, for a group that wants to promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, they certainly seem to throw out actions that are Selective, Unequitable, Rejecting, and Exclusive. They "SURE" seem to know how they want to direct things. Amazing my former school is so hateful. My years at College Park were some of my funnest years as youth. I'm not happy that spirit is gone.

How can we ever get our moral compass aligned with truth and honesty if the Mount Diablo unified school district can be so blind Do not see what they have in an amazing high school teacher at College Park High School.
I am ashamed that my children are an alumni of a school district where they would ever do something like this to an amazing teacher. Teachers with moral compasses don’t change grades.
Maybe the administration needs a good swift removal and go out the door.!

Dear Board of Directors,
In regards to Mr. Scott's character being in question, I'd like to submit an official statement. I have known Mr. Scott for over 40 years and have only known him to be a kind, fair and unbiased person in all his relationships with friends, family and his students. He has always been someone I'd consider to have high ethics and morals and can tell he genuinely loves being a teacher and loves his students. The school would do better if he could be returned to his duties as his passion for teaching is unmatched. In today's world, we need more teachers like Mr. Scott. Please consider returning him as soon as possible because it is his students that are suffering.

Any suggestion that Douglas Walter Scott is racist are absolutely ridiculous. I have known Doug since 1978; he has never even come close to uttering a racist epithet.

Doug Scott is a brilliant teacher without a bad bone in his body. Racist is the last thing Mr. Scott is. Doug has more love in his little pinky, than most people have in their entire body?! Reinstate Mr.Scott!!
