Meagan Hockaday was killed in her own home by Oxnard police officer Roger Garcia on March 28, 2015. He was called on a domestic violence call and shot her within the first 20 seconds he was there. He claims to have felt threatened so he shot her with intent to kill. Her daughters witnessed the murdering of their mother. This was not the first shooting incident Garcia was involved in yet he is a free man and still patrolling the streets in Oxnard.
There is no justification for lives being taken away by the law enforcement. They are supposed to protect and serve but police brutality has become a huge issue and it needs to stop. We demand a real investigation into Meagan's death and demand Officer Roger Garcia to get suspended and/or fired.

Enough is enough!!! Police need to stop using excuses to justify senseless killings of Black people. The use of deadly force is not reasonable just because someone is Black and non-black people feel threatened by that “Blackness”. Black people deserve the same rights and fair treatment that other non-Black people routinely receive, expect, and demand!! Justice for ALL!!!!
The cop who murdered Meagan is a coward. He should be brought to justice. No justice, no peace.
Did you see the report from the DA? The knife was tiny and no threat to a hopefully trained police officer. There was no reason to shoot her. Roger Garcia was supposedly trained in de-escalation, so why did he not employ that training before immediately shooting?
This is disgusting!! Killing her in front of her children???!!!! Are you serious?! The “police” are supposed to keep good order and protect. But of course because of the color of her skin she’s a “threat”. We demand justice!!!!!!
