This petition exists to address a great injustice currently taking place in English class: the absolute denial of Matas’s ability to chew gum.

Chewing gum is not a distraction. It is a coping mechanism. It is a focus enhancer. Without gum, Matas is forced to sit through class in a state of unnecessary struggle, when a simple piece of gum could restore balance, concentration, and peace.

Matas does not pop bubbles. Matas does not stick gum under desks. Matas does not disrupt lessons. Matas simply chews — quietly, respectfully, heroically.

Denying this small freedom serves no educational purpose and solves no real problem. Allowing gum would improve focus, morale, and overall classroom harmony, while costing absolutely nothing.
