On Tuesday April 20th Ma'Khia Bryant took her last breath. An unnamed Columbus police officer arrived to a Columbus neighborhood at the request of Ma'Khia and then preceded to use lethal force on a 16 year old girl, resulting in her brutal death. This is no accident, no coincidence, this is a broken policing system that is threatening the lives of Black and Brown Americans on a daily basis. Signing this petition, acts as a wakeup call to Governor Mike DeWine. Ohioans demand for reform and recognition of racist policing institutions. Signatories demand that:

  1. DeWine publicly denounce the actions of the Columbus police department.
  2. DeWine immediately stop the protocol by which officers report to a scene for crisis management.
  3. DeWine assist in the implementation of more pronounced bias screening for officers in the state.
  4. DeWine work along side Mayor Ginther to do a full investigation of every officer within the Columbus Police Department, two murders at the hands of police in one department in the past few months is enough to investigate every officer who may be the next one to pull the trigger.

Share this petition EVERYWHERE and once it is carrying enough weight it will be sent to the Governors office as well as multiple elected officials in the Columbus area. Justice for Ma'Khia.
