Accountability is the key foundation to respect. We need to protect our planet and not let developers get away with such acts.

The people responsible for the demise of such a beautiful old tree must be held responsible. Such acts need to be held accountable (certainly not a "mistake") with hefty penalties such that other property owners or developers don't allow the same to happen. In other words, "not just a slap on the hands" but strong penalties that will ensure such outrageous "mistakes" will never occur!
